# How we check places

> Every place on Cabuya CR is checked against its own website or official pages and recent listings before we publish it, and rechecked at least once a year. We don't accept payment to be listed or ranked.

## Our sources

- **The place itself:** its official website, booking page or official social account, checked when we write or update a page.
- **Official bodies:** Costa Rica's national park service (SINAC) for Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, and the ferry and transport operators' own timetables.
- **Recent listings:** dated reviews and listings from the past year, used only to confirm a place is open, never copied.
- **Reference works:** Wikipedia, Wikidata and published natural history sources for background facts.

## What we don't do

- We don't accept payment to be listed, ranked or recommended.
- We don't publish prices, because they change often. Check with the place directly.
- We don't invent reviews, ratings or awards.
- We don't list places we couldn't confirm are open.

## Keeping things current

Each page shows the date we last checked it. We recheck every page at least once a year and whenever a reader tells us something has changed.

## Photos

Most photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, credited on each page. Some show the wider area rather than the exact place, and the credit says so.

## Partner content

If an article is ever produced with a partner, it's marked "Partner Content" at the top.
